The Tennis Buddy Network creates a connection between young tennis "Rookies" and their tennis "Buddies", who are seasoned junior players and enthusiasts of tennis. It is a connection that encourages communication and interaction so that Rookies feel comfortable about asking questions, getting advice on competitive play, and sharing experiences and challenges. Let's face it, tennis is a challenging sport!

 

In turn, seasoned Buddies completely understand the challenges of the sport and can relate to the frustrations of starting out. They want to share their "lessons learned" and enrich their community by mentoring the next generation of Rookies. This is just one of the ways they can give back to the sport they love.

 

Buddies can connect with their Rookies via email or text and can schedule times to talk or play. Buddies will track these meetings via an Instagram account which links to their profile page on the Tennis Buddy Network website.  These Instagram feeds will convey the activity and time spent with each Rookies. Buddies are encouraged to connect with their Rookies at least 1 hour per month (either via Zoom/Google Meet or in person meetings or a combination of both).

Every year, all Buddies and Rookies get together in an annual tennis event, where they can all meet, team up, and have fun!
